98 Civic with K20A3, K-Pro V4, and no AC?
Long story, but here goes. So I have a K swap (K20A3, I know, slow crappy engine) in my 98 Honda civic sedan with Kpro V4. I recently installed the Hybrid Racing K swap AC kit because I will be driving it from Texas to Georgia, and I’m not trying to dehydrate on the way.
So I installed everything, and tested all the connections and wiring. When I turn on the AC from the climate control the condenser fan comes on. With that done I went it got it properly serviced today. It holds the charge and there are no leaks. With all that done I started up the car and turned on the AC and I got nothing but hot air and the AC compressor won’t turn on. Knowing what I know about the Civic AC system I did all the checks. Checked fuse 17 under the dash, the relay in the engine bay, jumped power to the clutch and relay sockets and it turns on or clicks like it’s supposed to.
Went through my Civic and RSX shop manuals and did all the step by step checks as well, and still not getting the compressor to engage unless power is directly applied to the compressor. I have no idea what the issue is and it seems that I am the only person who has had this issue. I saw a few threads with some similar issues, but they were able to fix their problems. As I did a data log I saw that my ACSW and ACCL were both off. So I tried the "use VTP as AC Switch Input" but that didn't work either. I also enabled the Multi-plexers as well and that didn't do the trick either.
Does anyone have any idea what this might be? I haven’t heard of any issues with Kpro affecting this, but I don’t know it all. I don’t think it’s the AC pressure switch because I get proper voltage and continuity at the female and male ends of the plug and switch.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

So did this ever work? I'm a bit confused as it would have to be working for it to be serviced and have refrigerant added or measured.
Have you tried the ECU in a known working car with AC to see if it works as it should?

The ac components were from my 98 Civic and the compressor was from a wrecked RSX I bought when I was in Germany around 2013. The RSX was wrecked from the rear and the AC worked as it should. The ECU was actually from a K20A2 and it was in the wrecked RSX and the K20R ecu was from a running working car as well.Spunkster wrote: Wed Jun 27, 2018 12:49 pm So did this ever work? Its a little frustrating when you follow directions and shop manuals for installs and things don't go the way you intended. lol

almost forgot. unfortunately i don't have any other car to test these on. honda scene on my part of town is dead, and my Army buddies all have trucks or domestic cars.

I still don't understand how this was charged or serviced if it never worked in this vehicle.

my bad man. here's the overall scoop:Spunkster wrote: Wed Jun 27, 2018 4:24 pm I still don't understand how this was charged or serviced if it never worked in this vehicle.
1. compressor was removed from working RSX in 2013 and put in my storage
2. K20 swap went in my car in 2015
3. i purchased Hybrid racing k swap AC install kit last month, finally installed this past week using lines from Hybrid Racing and my OEM lines, condenser, receiver dryer, and evaporator.
4. went and got the system vacuumed, pressure checked, and filled yesterday.
5. AC compressor won't kick on unless power is jumped to it.

well i got home a little while ago and gave that link and directions a try. my problem is my E plug on my HR conversion harness doesn't have the Red wire for pin 18 there. not sure if that's normal or not for conversion harnesses or which harness the guy was using.
i followed the directions for the wiring from HR, but still no AC compressor kicking on.
