New s300 ethanol input stuck at 99%?
New s300 ethanol input stuck at 99%?
I just upgraded my old v1 s300 to the v3 with boost control and the reliability upgrade and I can't speak highly enough about the turnaround time on sending my ecu in.
However one of the biggest features I was excited about using was the Ethanol input. I know it is wiring up correctly as the first night I fired up the car with plain 93oct it was reading a steady 9%. This week o drain the tank and filled it up with fresh e85 and now my ecu is stuck at 99% which I cannot believe is accurate. I even unplugged the input while the car was running and there was no change on the smanager. Is there a way to diagnose what is going on?
I know I can't use my trusty volt meter to check the pwm output so I am stuck on finding where the fault is. In the meantime I'm fairly confident I have the 80% batch being in Florida this time of year but I am nervous to put it through any boost with knowing exactly where I am at.

Re: New s300 ethanol input stuck at 99%?
Just took the car out on a run and now boost control is not working. I'm getting my same 51-52% out of the pwm in my datalog, but I'm back at my spring base.
Now I'm 0 for 2 on my favorite features :(

Re: New s300 ethanol input stuck at 99%?
Try closing the software, reopening it, load your calibration and then upload it to the ECU. You may have a corrupt upload to the ECU.
Re: New s300 ethanol input stuck at 99%?
Ok, I found my boost control issue, a broken ground between the solenoid and ecu. So that is back online and working.
I do not leave the ecu in the car when parked. So I plugged it back in today and restarted the tuning computer, connected it and reloaded the map. No difference in the signal. Before I opened the map I had the car in the on position but not running and it was pegged at 99%. I thinking of picking up a voltmeter that will read frequency to see if the sensor is indeed putting out 150+Hz. Should that be the next step?

Re: New s300 ethanol input stuck at 99%?
does it change if you unplug the sensor?
Re: New s300 ethanol input stuck at 99%?
No it does not. I have tried that and get nothing. So with no input, the ecu/smanager still says 99%.
Re: New s300 ethanol input stuck at 99%?
From Help, About, what is the version of software you are using?
How exactly do you have this wired?

Re: New s300 ethanol input stuck at 99%?
I can double check when I get home, but IIRC off my head it was 2.6.6 since I looked it up to make sure it was current.
The power source is the fuse accessory port "C" in the interior eg fuse box. I have the 2.4k ohm (1/2 watt I think) wired between the power and signal wire near the sensor and then the signal and ground running to the s300. Signal is going to the red an0 wire and the ground is to the "first" black wire.

I am indeed running v2.6.6 from 11/17
Re: New s300 ethanol input stuck at 99%?
If you unplug the analog harness from the s300 do the readings change in the datalog?
Re: New s300 ethanol input stuck at 99%?
I can try that tonight. I will start up the car and pull off the analog input hanress. If it drops to 0 the car should just die since the Ethanol correction should pull 34% of the fuel out, but if not maybe it's an issue with the s300 card itself?
Re: New s300 ethanol input stuck at 99%?
Ok, opened ecu cover, plugged it in, started the car. Smanager was at 99% and I understand plugged the whole analog input harness and there was no change at all. So with nothing connected the s300/smanager is stuck at 99%.
Re: New s300 ethanol input stuck at 99%?
Please post the calibration you are using and a datalog showing the issue.
Re: New s300 ethanol input stuck at 99%?
Sorry, a surprise trip took out of town for a week. I will attach both tonight.
Re: New s300 ethanol input stuck at 99%?
OK attached is my current tune and a short datalog run from my first night on e85. You can see input stuck at 99% the whole time.
