Changing fuel pressure

Post by 2x0 »

My injectors tested at about 925cc of flow at 43.5psi. In order to lower my duty cycle, I am installing an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and would like to increase fuel pressure to 60psi.

Question, what is the best way to compensate for this in my fueling parameters? Can I simply take 925/43.5 = 21.26cc/psi, then multiply 21.26 x 60 = 1275cc and use this as my new injector size? Does increasing fuel pressure affect dead times also?

I know that Smanager will calculate overall trim by entering old and new fuel pressure, but I already use 30% overall trim due to e85 and this is how all my tables are set up. I am afraid that changing overall trim could throw things off.

So which is the preferred method, and what things will be affected differently by changing these two parameters?

Thanks,

You will have to retune for the change in pressure. The dead times bay be different at a higher pressure as well.

Yes, I will retune the fuel tables as needed once the pressure is adjusted. But for a base starting point, is it better to account for the pressure difference by changing injector sizing, or overall fuel trim.

If the size of the injector has not changed, then you should not change that setting.
