2005 RSX-S K-Pro issues

Post by aspec04t »

1st. The speedometer fluctuates (with the 2005 countershaft selected in parameter window) while you shift. For example I would be accelerating in second gear the needle shows 40 MPH, as soon as I press the clutch in and let go of the throttle the speedometer shows 46mph and when I reapply the throttle it drops to 43 MPH, in other words a lot of fluctuation with the speed meter. As the speeds increase the bigger these fluctiations are. At 80 MPH Shift 87 , back in gear, 85 MPH.

2nd. It has thrown CEL code p1457 numerous times, I replaced my stock ecu back and it doesn?t throw the code with the stock ecu. If anyone is having these same issues please reply if you have any resolutions.

My speedometer suffers similar problems.

i have thrown the Evap CEL P1457 twice in one week.

I have thrown the AF sensor failure CEL three times in a week, but i datalog just fine.

(i have a bosch 36531-PRB-A01 O2 sensor... Sensor actually had that part number on the bag is was sealed in)

OK, we'll get an 05 back here when we can (should be next week) and look at the problems.

The speedo always has had a small degree of lag - it is actually in the cluster.

Question for stevenc: What are the marking on the sensor (it should have a manufacturer part number). Can you also post a datalog and the calibration?

Update: Honda does not use Bosche o2 sensor (only Denso). Did you buy the o2 sensor from Acura?

So far the only issues I've had with mine lately is since I changed over to Vr 07 K Manager, my cell for po139 (Secondary HO2S) (Sensor 2) Slow Response has been coming on every 150-300 miles, I've had it since june and never had any issue prior I went back to vr 05 and it still comes on wondering if the sencor is going bad
I'am using the defouler trick would I have to use an o2 sim since now it has a 04 ecu in it

Fixed just had to tighten my bolts from dcrh to my mid pipe.

IN testing the code 1457 never came up, but we are looking into that one. I do know that the 05 does not have an evap purge like the 02-04. This is just an OBD2 error since the ecu is looking for activity on that evice. A temprorary solution until we update the software to eliminate this code on an 05 is to disable OBD2. This has no effect on perfrormance or reliability.

ill agree with hondata on the cluster. my radio posts a digital speed seperate to my cluster. the speeds are off, and the lag from the cluster. all thought i have not verified if it the correct speed on the radio. i dont want to for safety reasons and legality
