Flex fuel sensor failure failsafe

Post by Justinthecoastie »

Hey guys, I've recently purchased the items needed to use the flex fuel feature(s). My question is, is there a failsafe for a sensor failure while it is actively flexing. My ignition map on 93 is very different than my e85 map and in the event of the sensor reading 93 octane when it should read e85 could lean me out and may cause serious damage. Thanks for your help and suggestions on what I should could do in the event of a sensor failure

You can set up lean protection parameters.

I guess my question should be more focused to fuel riching under failure of the e85 sensor. If I have lean protection set up, how will it protect me from a rich condition that may/may not result in fuel washing cylinders? This there protection for this?

There is nothing to setup in the software for this type of failure.
