When posting a KPro problem with your vehicle, please include:
- what vehicle you have:2002 Honda civic si (stock with boltons)
- serial number of your K-Pro:40726
- version of software being used: V4.3.5 2
- ECU part number ( 37820) and serial number (the number under the part number)
- KManager version: I am not certain where to find that. would it not be V4.3.5 2
- the calibration: no specific calibration. unable to upload.
- a datalog of a problem: unable to datalog
- anything about the car which has been modified from stock which may affect the ECU: Nothing.
- when and where you got the K-Pro: private 3rd party online.
- a specific description of the problem: I have registered the kpro unit under my name and with my VIN. The problem consists of the fact that I am unable to Upload any calibrations, or clear security. The Software reads the ECU correctly (I.e. When i turn Ignition on the software reflects that.) However under the display tab the values are incorrect. they display my RPMs as 5420.....with the engine off. MAP pressure is at 300.0 lbs. These values do not change. It was loaded with the Stock calibration so my car will crank and run. When i have the Car off, ECU plugged in, laptop on, then i connect the usb, the LED on the kpro flashes green for 1-2 seconds, then it starts blinking red and the green led goes off. When i put the car into the ON position, the red light starts flashing from dim to bright. I took the lid off the ecu to inspect the Kpro unit, and once i pulled it off the ecu I noticed that the top left side set of pins (usually a set of four according to the Google pictures) isnt there. it has been replaced with a single pin.is that normal? if so is it supposed to be in the 2nd socket from the left of the unit? I also now have my CEL on. Kmanager shows no DTC, and i have not been able to Get the code read normally.

Re: Unable to upload
It could be any one of the installation, ECU & KPro. Was this KPro used on this ECU before or is it a new installation? If you'd like to post a photo of the installation then we can tell you if the pin location is correct.

Re: Unable to upload
I will have to get a picture after i get off work. The solder job on both of the 5-pin connections looks correct along with the 3 jumpers on the back side. The single pin is another story. It is a little rough looking. However i digress. I have no idea about the ecu being used with it before. I assume so though. What exactly is that single pin for? power? ground? Data?

Re: Unable to upload
This was sold as an install kit to Xenocron Tuning and the socketing of this ECU is very sloppy and there is solder and possible damage to other components. You should contact Xenocron Tuning for assistance with this.

Okay. is there any way to test that the Daughter Board itself is okay? The ecu functions correctly. I am using it to drive.

Re: Unable to upload
Update: I Am no longer getting any CEL, and car runs and drives normally....With or without the kpro board Set on the ecu. Is that normal? should the ecu run correctly without the Daughter board installed? What is the correct LED pattern for a working Kpro? Based on the ECU running and cranking the car correctly would you agree that the Kpro Board is the culprit?
Re: Unable to upload
Based on the condition of the ECU it needs to be looked at by Xenocron Tuning. This must be done before doing anything else as it is the most likely cause of the problems.
