Set Timing doesnt work

Post by autoxmike »

last night I was trying to adjust timing on my B18. I hit the "Set Timing..." in SManager and nothing happened. Usually the idle changes as timing is set to 16 degree. This time the idle stayed the same. Timing light shows timing not even close and cant get in range by rotating distributor. Looked at the data log to see what timing was doing and saw not change there then into and out of "Set Timing..." mode. As engine was revved the timing changed even when "Set Timing.." was activated.

Why is "Set Timing.." not setting timing to 16 degrees.

More info:
Same Motor, Same ECU, Same PC as I used before to successfully set timing. Only difference is that I downloaded the most recent version of S300 before trying to adjust timing last night.

Also I haven't tried uploading from the PC to the ECU. I can download the current tune file though. Maybe writing to the ECU isn't working for some reason? Maybe try a different cable?

You must upload your calibration to the ECU using the new version of software.

Where is this set timing you spark of? When I put the cpr kit on I never did anything with the timing and I've been telling myself to make sure it's ok. I researched it on here and this post is about all I found
94 4dr. gsr 201,000 and growing miles running 10lbs from a cx racing turbo.
Hondata s300 v3 p28, cpr, rc440cc, pro series IM, 70mm tb, lc2 wb, half core rad. Cx turbo and other things
