Boost drops in colder weather

Post by jaygeezemail »

I maintain 10lbs when it's warm. Anything above 50ish. But when it's in the 30's all I get is 7lbs. I even have the iat table adding to my duty cycle but it still stays at 7lbs. It confuses me.

No one else has this issue? You would think I'd get a higher boost in cold weather and would have to decrease duty cycle in the air temperature compensation table.

There is air temp compensation within the boost control settings and that is probably what is causing you to get less boost when it is cold.

This morning my IAT. Was at 32° 7-8psi is all I got. When it's warmer I get 10-11psi. When i put that table at 0 across tje board it is still the same like its not doing anything. I may get a little dramatic with it and bump it up to 5 across just to see if it even works.

I figured it out. The intake temperature correction table is a percentage of your total duty cycle. So if you're boost regulator is at 50% duty cycle and your air temp table is has adding 5% it won't change it to 55% like you would think. It would take your duty cycle to 52.5
