FlashProManager V2.8.1.0

Post by Hondata »

Changes from 2.8.0.0:
  • FlashPro firmware updated to version 119
  • [2016-2017 Turbo Civic & Si] Race FlashPro's can disable certain equipment.
  • [2016-2017 Turbo Civic & Si] After reflashing knock control no longer resets to 100 percent.
  • [2016-2017 Turbo Civic] Added support for 5AN-C73 Canada.
Download here

The release has some improvements for the turbo 1.5 owners, and a new tuning feature, initially for the 2006-2011 Civic Si.

With the 2016+ Civic turbo, after a reflash the knock control would always default to 100%. This would retard the ignition for some time until the ECU reduced the knock control. Now the knock control will default to around 55%, which saves a lot of time when testing, or on the dyno.

Active Tuning

Post by Hondata »

Active tuning is where the ECU will tune the fuel tables as you drive, without a laptop and even without the FlashPro being connected.

It does this by using the o2 sensor lambda reading and target lambda to alter table values. You can active tune the fuel tables if using volumetric efficiency (MAP) tables, or the air flow meter conversion table if using mass flow.

Over time the quality of the fuel tables improves so that the ECU does not have to adjust the fuel values using the fuel trims as much. Here is a test we performed:

Short term fuel trim with a stock calibration:

After 5 minutes of driving:

After 15 minutes of driving>

Each test was made by driving the same circuit in the same way. A lower short term trim is better, and after just 15 minutes there is significantly less fuel trims being used.

We are going to trial this on the 06 Civic first. Other models will depend on the amount of ECU RAM and other factors being available.

The VSA disable is not working on my 2016 civic 1.5T CVT. i reflashed it a few time but it's not turning it off.

So for the"active tuning" for the 06-11 Si all we have to do is enable it in flashpro manger and flash it to the car?

Yes.
Additional I have smoothed out the MAP fuel tables - bumby/pieks are very hard for the ECU to compensate. So before u start auto-tune smooth out the map table.

I will start testing the new feature tomorrow on Monday on my supercharged FN2.

The new features are only available in a MAF or hybrid, not in a race cal.
The Civic SI features are also available on the Civic TypeR FN2.

Note: Race cals are no longer supported by Hondata!

After testing it more,. It's working as intended. The traction light will still flash when the tires slips with it disable

Testing the new feature: Active Tuning
Calibration type: RSP based

I have now 2 logs but I could not find the "merge" functionality which you descriped in the manual.
Optional. Changes can be incorporated into the main fuel tables by using the 'merge active table into main table' operation from the active tuning tables.

Are you active tuning fuel tables or the air flow meter table?

Ok, we have received the files. There is a arrow to merge the tables which was not visible on the Tables window. We've fixed this for the next release. We probably will not release the next version for a few days.

If active tuning is enabled, I have noticed a short lag/hessiation after rev high and shift into the next gear. This case is not reproduceable but I think a side effect caused by this new enabled feature "autotuned".
Can you post screenshots of the merge process of the tables which the active tuning find out?

So we can say in the current version this feature is useless because we did not see the changes which we can apply to the next calibration version or fix some bumpy things by hand.

Moved from race to rsp based calibration, map used for fuel tables.
Waiting for next update to test it properly :)

Regarding target lambda table, where it is? I don't see it even in tables dropdown:
