Hello Everyone
I'm Thomas and new to hondata as well as the forum.
Since a few months i have a Lotus Elise whit a Honda K20Z4 engine in the back connected to a Kpro4.
Because i drive trackdays i have purchased an AIM Solo DL and i would like to log engine oil pressure and temperature.
According to the following pdf i need an autometer 2246 and 2252 sensor connected to pins 15 and 16 of the Kpro4.
(page 8 of 9) http://www.aim-sportline.com/download/e ... 01_eng.pdf
However, it only seems possible to order these sensors in the US whit a shipping charge of 100 USD, which is a waste of money.
Can i use any alternative sensors in combination whit the Kpro4 ?
Best Regards,
Thomas
autometer sensor alternatives
Re: autometer sensor alternatives
Any inputs through the digital or analog inputs on the K-Pro can be seen only in the Hondata software and cannot be seen by any external sources. They will not be sent to the AIM.
Re: autometer sensor alternatives
Ehh, that information is distributed on the CAN output or are you going to remove that?

To OP, pretty sure you should be able to use any sensor with the same measuring range.

Re: autometer sensor alternatives
I was not aware you were referring to CAN, I assumed you were referring to the info in our help file for the AIM output: http://www.hondata.com/help/kmanager/ai ... ub=digital
If it can use the CAN signal then it contains the supported channels listed at: http://www.hondata.com/help/kmanager/can_output.htm
The info you are listing about different pins is not supplied by Hondata. You will need to contact AIM for clarification about the sensors.

Re: autometer sensor alternatives
So for a pressure it would be any sensor whit a 0 to +5V range correct?

As for a temperature sensor it can be any of those listed in the following link
or whit the same output characteristics. Any idea where i can get that data
in case the listed sensors are not available where i live? (doubt it)

Re: autometer sensor alternatives
AIM is the one saying you need a specific sensor for both. If you are unsure you need to contact them for clarification as it sounds like they have a specific sensor in mind for the protocol they are receiving.
Re: autometer sensor alternatives
Ah right, Ill do that thank's.
But for the hondata itself it does not matter as long as the criteria in the help section i linked is met?

Re: autometer sensor alternatives
You can set up other sensors with custom values, but they probably will not work correctly with the AIM.
