F20C Comptech supercharger tune

Post by spoon.ap1 »

Hi so I have a stock F20 in my s2000 with a Comptech supercharger on. Got a quick street tune done and car runs fine but "feel" like the cars misfire at idle

Ill post up the calibration. Tuner said he noticed something going on with timing.

The ignition normally varies a lot of idle - look in the help file under 'ignition controlled idle'. In your datalog the ignition looks about normal.

What injectors do you have? If everything else is good, then they are the most important component of a smooth idle.

I'm using Bosch 1600cc injectors. Tried 2 set of OEM coilpacks but still feels the same. Could it be the sparkplugs?

You're not going to get a stock idle with 1600cc injectors. Injectors in the 600-800cc range would be more typical for a supercharger. Have you adjusted the injector dead times for the 1600s?

Deadtimes are set. Its hard to explain, but its not where the idle that's the main issue. When I put my hand by the mufflers, I can feel the motor misfiring. The car also shakes a bit but this all happens ONLY after reaching operating temp. Just not sure if that's mechanical or tune related. Sorry for any confusion. But just to confirm, the calibration looks fine?

Attatched a couple datalogs and the calibration below

The dead times in the calibration are lower than for the stock injectors - they should be much higher. Again, even adjusted correctly, 1600 cc injectors will not have the same spray pattern as stock injectors and you will not get a factory idle.

Are the deadtimes something I can change or would I just bring it back to the tuner?

Also I noticed the "Injector Size" is set to 1500cc but I have 1600cc injectors. Is that something I should be worried about?

The part throttle tuning will change a lot if you change the dead times, so it would need to be retuned. Step 1 I think is to determine what injector size you actually need.

I bought the 1600cc for using e85 at 20-25psi on a f20c. I'm also using an aem e85 320lph pump with that. Is this too overkill if I run 92/94oct 80% of the time?
