VTC not working

Post by fhcampos »

Hello!

Im having a problem with a PRB + Kpro4 on a kswaped 94 civic DX.
The vtc is stuck in 0º all the time and dont follow the cmd.
I checked all the hardware(actuator, pulley and etc) and everything is ok.
When I check the polarity of the wires I have a double negative instead of a positive on the Blue/white and a negative on the black.
I think the problem is in the Kpro or ECU. It never worked and I dont have another Kpro to test(im in brazil).
Any ideas?
The serial on the Kpro is: 41830

I'm not sure what you mean by a double negative instead of a positive.

The ECU has been modified for use only in an 05-06 RSX. Using it in anything else will cause the VTC to not work correctly.

The vtc solenoid is powered by 2 wires.
Black - ground
Blue/white - it suposed to be the "+" but the kpro only sends ground.
All the harness is from a 06 rsx and everything else works perfect, including vtec.

Hello,

I have the same issue with my Kpro and did not realize that the Kpro v4 that I purchased was meant for an 05-06. Is there a way to modify the ECU to be used on an 02-04 harness? My motor is actually a K20Z1 with a K20A2 engine harness in an MR2. The ECU is commanding a specific value such as 20 degrees but actual cam timing is unchanged at 0 to -2.

Thanks!

Once converted, we do not convert them back and forth. I would recommend that you sell what you have to someone that needs the K-Pro for an 05-06 and then get the correct K-Pro/ECU for your setup.

Thanks for your reply,

The only other reason that I could see that the VTC is not working is that there is no speed sensor going to the ecu. We are currently using an MR2 transmission and has not been wired in, do you think that would contribute to VTC not working correctly or is the ECU likely the problem?

The ECU is modified so that the VTC will work in an O5-06. Once converted it will no longer function in an 02-04.
