newbe needs advice

Post by chefrite »

93 jdm h22a Honda prelude
sleeved block with standard bore
wisco 11.5/1 pistons
eagle rods
BC valve train
BC stage 2 cams
Intake is gutted
port and polished stage 1 on everything
coil into the dissy mod
DC header (crap I know)
will be buying a wideband but like to see what everyone thinks on brand
The vtec is locked with pins

First things first this is a circle track race car not a dd, Just got the hondata installed and the car will start but needs a lot of tunning to keep it running. My questions would be since this is a race car only would just running it in open loop with only one fuel map and tables be the easiest way to go? No need for vtec or secondary tables. Anyone suggest a good wide band that installs well with the s300? Anyone running with vtec killers that has a good base map that they can share with me would be awesome. Any helpful commits are greatly appreciated. New to this tunning stuff. Thanks

see this thread:

as for widebands, aem or the PLX is fine, the AEM needs the gauge to have an output to go into the euc. can you solder wires? I would highly advise against wire crimps or those crimp splice connectors. all you have to do is tune the primary table, smanager has a vault where tunes that people have uploaded can be downloaded.
Let's not make assumptions, please leave as much detail as possible!
