P1607 ecu internal circuit malfunction and ecu going offline????

Post by Adamk20aek9 »

Right I have a civic ek9 with k20a fitted, kpro v4 with latest software. Tuned by a company here in the U.K.
Bringing up error code p1607 and when tuning the car the ecu keeps going offline.

Checked selected calibration and they have selected a PRB ecu when it is a PRA what is fitted.
Should this be changed when the car is next tuned?

What can be causing the ecu to go offline? Ngk Resistor spark plugs are used.

The setup is 3" exhaust, race header and jenvey itbs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can only use a PRA calibration on a PRA ECU or you will get that error.

Having the wrong ecu selected is that a bad thing apart from putting an error code up? Will it effect how the car runs?

What could be the cause of the ecu going offline when trying to tune the car?

Thanks for the reply/help.

Are you using resistor or non-resistor type spark plugs?

You should not use a PRB calibration on a PRA. Running with the error code is not a good idea.

We are using ngk resistor spark plugs. What else could be causing the ecu to go offline, it only does it when the car is being tuned.

Ok we will start a new calibration with it. Ring the incorrect ecu selected.

Thanks

Are you using the USB cable provided by Hondata?

HAs anything been done to the ignition system on the vehicle?

Has the engine bay ground been relocated properly?

Hi

Still having issues with the kpro going offline when tuning the car.

Engine ground got moved again and still the same issue.

Anything else to try or is it best to send the ecu off to be checked?

Thanks.

I would recommend that you try the ECU in a different vehicle to see if the problem follows the ECU or is specific to the vehicle.
