No current data.
not sure where to start with this but i'm new to hondata and have recently purchased Hondata s300v3. i installed it myself and everything was working as it should. i had a type r basemap programmed and had the car running pretty well. i planned on getting my car(1998 honda civic with hondata s300v3 p72 ecu) tuned on a dyno this spring and everything was great. i was able to use current data and change things. well the other day(sunday march 26th) i had pulled it outside of the garage to do a side job on my cousins odyssey. it was the first time the car has seen rain in the past year and a half, its been garage kept since oct 2015. well apparently the moonroof drains were clogged and i had no idea. water dripped onto the ecu and when i went to start it and pull it back into the barn, the car made a snap noise and it shut off. water had dripped onto my obd2 to obd1 harness and the ecu itself. i pulled it apart and dried everything out. the next morning i went out and plugged the p72 ecu in, and it ran. ran well actually. however when i plug hondata itself in using my lap top, i cannot use current data. when i went to open it, i also did the 2.5.5 update. i can enter parameters and change settings on the ecu, but cannot view current data. did i cook the ecu? or do i have to update the ecu to match the 2.5.5 update? it would absolutely suck to have to purchase a new hondata and spend the time to solder it into a new ecu.

Re: No current data.
Just ordered a obd1 socket tester to see if it's an issue with the ecu. But could it still be a setting that's messed up? When I hit live data, it shows ECT and IAT to be 302F
Re: No current data.
Is J12 cut on the ECU?

Re: No current data.
yes it is. i pulled it apart last night just to verify i did that at time of install.
Re: No current data.
Make sure it is seated on the pins correctly.

Re: No current data.
double and triple checked that as well. the lights turn on when ignition is turned on and when coaxial cable is plugged it. and im using the cable that was provided with the s300v3.
Re: No current data.
I would recommend that you try the s300 in a known working ECU.

Re: No current data.
acquired new virgin p28 ecu over the weekend and ordered a new capacitor kit as well as new install kit. also invested in a hondata socket tester as well while i was at it. spent around 5 hours soldering in the new capacitors and hondata s300v3 adaptors to the p28 and tested the ecu to find everything was done correctly. hooked it up to the car and viola! problem solved. i can now view all data and have full control over the car!

Glad you got it resolved.
