recently finished rebuilding my civic type r EK9. facelift obd2b.
i have a s300v3 attached which i have taken to the dyno for a basemap.
at the dyno the car was running fine no issues really nice. trailered it home drove it into the garage, no problem, letting it warm up for a few minutes....
next morning tried to fire her up and it wouldnt start, dumps loads of fuel into the engine and just turns over.
ive tried erasing the ecu and reloading the basemap i had configured at the dyno, but it still wont fire up just turns over.
this will be the second time this ecu has failed on me, the first time i sent it back to the company i got it from h-tune.co.uk. which sell them as a complete package.
is there anything i can check or do to see if the memory is storing the map properly/loading them properly?? maybe it s a ecu memory fault??
or any troubleshooting that i can try and resolve this. like i said before this was up and running A OK at the dyno no issues.
the engine is N/A skunk2 pro 1 cams, 550cc grams injectors, 70mm throttle body. p28 with a jumper to the ecu.
i cant see the basemap being an issue as it was professionally calibrated and tuned.
s300 v3 not running map
Re: s300 v3 not running map
If this is the second time you have had issues with this ECU, you should contact the company you go the ECU from as it may have bad solder joints or is just faulty. The s300 would not change the programing on its own jus sitting overnight.
Re: s300 v3 not running map
after getting the tuner to remotely connect to my laptop today, it seems that some parts of the fuel compensation changed themselves due to a possible fuel injector fault.
once i got the car started again after the tuner changed a few parameters it started up again with alittle throttle, it sound like it was intermittently running on 3 cylinders only. every few seconds it would fire on the cylinder (cylinder number 3)
my questions is...
if i had a injector fault, ie it couldnt provide a stable amount of fuel, would the ecu try to compensate and apply alot more than needed to try and compensate ??

Re: s300 v3 not running map
It could. It sounds like you may have a faulty ECU, faulty injector, or faulty wiring if one injector is not firing.
Re: s300 v3 not running map
ok so i thought id keep this post updated in case anyone else runs into the same issue.
injectors tested and apparent didnt skip a beat with varied tests, here is a video of them being tested.

seems the issue is on cylinder number 3 so i guess next step would be to check the wiring for injector 3? if wiring turns out ok? ecu next?

Re: s300 v3 not running map
Sounds like you are testing it properly.
Re: s300 v3 not running map
this issue has been resolved car is now running for the past 2-3 weeks,
issue was with the ignition coil in the distributor.
thanks for your support.
