Target Lambda Questions

Post by creizlein »

Newbie question alert, so please forgive and understand this might be really dumb to ask, but here we goes.
What is the optimal value, to tune a N/A car as for Target Lambda Settings?
With the default settings my basemap looks 14.7 for col1-6 and 13.50 for 7-10 but i have seen a lot of maps that they use 14.7 for 1-5, then 13.50 for col6-8 and 12.50 for col 9-10.

I know this is just a reference, but as I am starting to learn it guides me on how much offset I have on my current map for that particular col and then adjust properly to archive that number, so having a good base idea of the best target numbers would be nice.

Also what is the best practice to switch/pass to the next column, (my English might fail here, sorry), but I mean, if my target is 14.7 on col5 and 13.5 on col6 should I drastically increase the fuel to archive this or do a smooth transition from 14.7 to 14.3 into 13.8 and then 13.5 for instance?

Or in other words, maybe the question to ask is what would a *ideal* tuned map looks like in terms of AFR?

Hope the questions makes sense.

Regards

You may want to read more about tuning in the Tuning Guide section at: https://www.hondata.com/tech-s100-s200-s300

thank you for your reply Spunkster, I did read the guide sections and specifically all of the tunings guides, however, I am not an expert and thus some of the things that might be basic for experienced users are not for me, and that was the reason I did the initial disclaimer.

Upon reading those, and many more guides I didn’t found the answer, I did however noticed several different maps for target lambda when reading the tutorials so that’s why I ask what the best overall guide value is.
