This is rather embarrassing but I'm still on v1.45 of Smanager and S300 v1 which has been reliable enough after a good dyno session. I would like to upgrade to the latest version of Smanager software to get some of the Test output benefits and others.
1. Looking at the release notes it looks like the firmware updates are for v2/3 and Traction control, which I do not have. Is it safe to assume v1 of S300 does not get a firmware upgrad when upgrading to the latest version of Smanager software?
2. If the firmware is upgraded on v1 when using the latest version of Smanager software, is there a safe way to downgrade in the event something is not right and the car does not start, etc... Can I simply just install v1.45 back on the laptop, do an erase and upload my calibration file?
3. Clearly b/c of all the changes since v1.45 uploading the exported settings will likely be a problem and I would have to manually make updates i assume?
Thanks
Downgrade Software/firmware? & upgrading Software settings
Re: Downgrade Software/firmware? & upgrading Software settings
Your firmware will not be upgraded as this is an old system. You should always use the most recent version of the software as there are bug fixes. You must upload your calibration to the ECU using the new version of software.
Re: Downgrade Software/firmware? & upgrading Software settings
Great since there is no firmware upgrade, switching back and forth between software versions will not be an issue, how about upgrading to the latest software and loading the v1.45 configuration file. Will this cause any type of corruption loading an old config file into new software version?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Downgrade Software/firmware? & upgrading Software settings
There should be no problem using the current version of software with an old s300.
Re: Downgrade Software/firmware? & upgrading Software settings
Great, and this includes using the old configuration files I assume and uploading it to latest version.
Any tips or changes one should be aware of when jumping this many revisions which would possibly prevent a car from starting using an old config file in the latest release. Is there a specific options or check box that is recommended be set or unset of the new features?
Thanks

There should be no problem when doing this. Just upload the calibration using the newest version and it should run the same.

Great thank you for the quick support
