External wideband settings

Post by mladjan »

I connected this wideband sensor on EGR Lift pin on my ecu, like its described.
Found specs about voltage on manufacture's website: http://www.aemelectronics.com/files/pr/ ... ds_PR.html
And I done a setup like you can see on this screenshot: http://cloud.mladjan.me/0j1K1Y18183L

Two problems:
1. I don't see it in list of sensors, Wideband and wideband voltage are not changing (0).
2. When I do a labda overlay, Im getting weird numbers: http://cloud.mladjan.me/2e1O210I232Q when I set to "Analog wideband input" in settings: http://cloud.mladjan.me/3P3w0z412w37

You should see the reading in the sensor list under Wide.

Have you checked using a multimeter to verify the voltage coming from the wideband controller?

One subquestion until I fix the wiring.

I have a situation that my calibration is based on groupe N calibration, and it uses factory wideband o2 sensor for closed loop and corrections. I have installed aftermarket wideband (bosh lsu 4.9) which is displayed on my guage. The problem is that after few WOT gears (around 10s of WOT) it starts to show low AFR (from 13 up to 9), but wideband in log shows around 12.5 and 13 and corrects a lot a fuel (adds it). This rich situation makes that my car loose power. You can see that by looking into short fuel trim sensor (it goes up to 50%!!!)
Log is attached.
My guess is that OEM wideband is showing wrong values in these WOT situations (based on this reading: https://www.hondata.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12086)

I will change to Race calibration soon (Im getting in next few weeks my tts supercharger kit) and would like to have correct wideband input in my ECU.
Is possible to use bosh wideband I have attached on EGR Lift pin as secondary o2 sensor? In other words, I want ECU to use aftermarket one in closed loop.

No, it is not possible to use an aftermarket wideband to run in closed loop. It will only run closed loop from the stock wideband.

Ok, thx :)
Do you have any idea why OEM wideband is doing incorrect readings in some cases? Not sure that I will fix that with new oem wideband because my exhaust will make the same problem (vibrations may be the reason for failure).
Also, my intake resonator is disconnected, maybe this affect MAF sensor? How is s fuel trim calculated? Which data it uses to determine when to cut the fuel?

how close are the 2 wideband sensors and where are they installed?

These are the pictures. Manifold is japspeed, with modified collector (70mm).

It appears that your sensors are only reading from 2 cylinders. I believe that they should be placed farther back where they can get a reading from all cylinders.

Yeah, I know. This is how exhaust manifold is designed :( I will modify that in some point.
But I think this is not the reason of o2 sensor bad readings.

It will not run correctly until this is corrected.

What is your suggestion for distance between them if I move all 3 on single pipe?

I don't understand this, I just have my wideband installed, I saw in flashpro the Calibration>>closeloop>>lambda page, the first parameter is to select which pin is used for wideband?

I understood that ECU will not use that wideband (external) for ECU realtime corrections, it will use first o2 sensor.
External wideband can be used only for overlap on fuel tables and logs, for mapping purposes.

I am confusing because
in flashpro the Calibration>>closeloop>>lambda page, the first parameter is to select which pin is used for wideband?
If it's not working why there is an configuration.
