Pre-OBD to OBD-1 conversion for Hondata?

Post by blownintegra »

Has anyone gone from an 86-87 type ECU and distributor and gone OBD-1?

I am looking to convert my CRX and I need help!

I want to use Hondata for tuning!

Can anyone help?

Spunkster, I know that you might have some insite on this. I've seen the 1gteg board already. I would probably need to be able to shut off some additional sensors. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mike

My situation is a bit different, I'm using an OBD1/2 engine in the car. You may wan tto talk to Hasport or Locash Racing abou this type of conversion.

okay. do you know if there is anyway to be able to shut off the VSS and other sensors through hondata that I don't have in my 86 so that I can run obd-1?

VSS cannot be turned off.

What I did was intercept the VSS signal that was sent to the cruise control unit and sent that to the ecu as it is the same as an OBD1 VSS signal.

86 crx does not have cruise. does the computer acutally need it other than for the automatic or cruise?

can't you change the gauge cluster or...

simply add the electric vss to the trans. '94?up. i think it only requires a 12v ign, gnd, and output signal to the ecu. i believe this is what crx guys running the jdm cluster in '90-1 have to do. of course, then your speedo won't work.
