CAR WILL NOT START AFTER FIRST FLASH..Please help :(

Post by david18 »

Hello,

I got my flashpro last night, started my first calibration, and uploaded successfully. I saw the lights flicker and thought I did everything right. Now the car will not start and I have tried everything with a friend of mine who is very experienced with flashpro. Every time we hook up to the ECU, it is in recovery mode and no green check mark. Tried to unlock from the vehicle, and it says it "can't find the VIN number" .

Before I started this I was using a desktop and I put the VIN number in manually, so it was not connected to the laptop when I locked it. But when I go to the details tab, it has my VIN number in there, and its correct. I registered the flash pro with hondata. I am so lost and stressed guys..please help. This is my only transportation of course.

I checked all the fuses and battery is good. I even unhooked the battery, and put back calibration to stock and reflashed, but again, the connection to the ECU is in "recovery mode"

Is my ECU fried? I have a 2009 Civic SI coupe

If it is in recovery mode you just need to load a new calibration from the New Calibration button and re-upload to the ECU. This should get the ECU out of recovery mode.

Thank you for the quick reply, I really appreciate it. I have tried all of that stuff. We tried loading so many calibrations I was going nuts last night.

Do I always need to have the flashpro connected to both the ODBII port as well as the laptop when I re-upload the calibration?

Also, is it normal for the reflash process that when I turn the key to the second spot , my temp gauge is not even illuminated? The Gas gauge is fine.
Car will not turn over. Cranks but no start. I am trying my best to figure this out. I don't ask for help unless I am absolutely stuck.

You must have everything connected and the key in the on position to upload to the ECU from the laptop.

yes, we tried all this already...I am lost..completely..

It is a round and round thing now.. I can't even unlock my vehicle now either because it wants a new calibration, but it doesn't seem to take it. It gives me the VIN number error..this is just horrible..

I know you are trying to help.

Is there a way I can just start the whole process over? Uninstall the flashpro manager, and then re-install and register the flashpro again?

From Help, About, what version of software are you using? What is the serial number of the FlashPro? What is the part number of your ECU?

Version number is 1.8.3
serial number is FP-SI-US-16752
ECU # 37820-RRB-A14

I had downloaded the 1.8.3 on my desktop computer and then switched to 1.9 (beta) and then when things were not working right, I thought it was the version, so I went back to the old one because that is the version I locked my vehicle on.

I put in the VIN number manually and submitted.

Do not use the old version. You must use the Beta version downloaded from our website.

Where to download it? or its inside the cd came with the flashpro?
I only got 1 calibration inside the FP. As i read i can put 2nd calibraton to FP. Now if i already put 2nd calibration can i change to my primary calibration without labtop?

You must use the current version of software. You cannot use an old version of software.

Using an old version of software will not change anything. You must use the current version of software.
