Build h22 - idle problems

Post by Rasmusm »

Hello all

I got my car tuned/dynoed few years ago, I just recently swapped out my RC550cc injectors for 725ID injectors, havnt had it tuned since..
Im having a tough time "fine tune" my idle.. It idles very rough.

Car is sleeved H22 with pro2 cams and 12.5:1 CP pistons, balanced crankshaft, no balance axles. Hytec replica header, euro R intake, 68mm professional producs TB, 2.5" exhaust with 400cell cat, oh and port and flowed head, 99octane fuel.
I've attached the skl

it simply wont idle below 1400rpm, or is that normal for this kind of build? The extra ignition in low end is to keep it from dying, when giving it gas and let it go down to idle it will simply go below 1000rpm and die out, the extra ignition catches it before it dies completely ..

Can you help me figure out whats wrong here? Keep in mind the map is not tuned yet for the new injectors. but idles around afr14.5-14.7

Thanks

Does the idle controller still work with this setup?

The IACV is working, when I pull on the slider in smanager it does make a difference in idle.
But it feels like the car will choke it self to death below 1200ish RPM, cant relly figure out why. I just did the TPS calibration yesterday, and according to the manual 0.48v at closed TP and 4.5v at fully open, and readjusted tps in smanager aswell.

Have you put in the correct dead times for the new injectors?

Actually it seems they are wrong, hm I was sure I did enter the right numbers.. Will try changing em.

one question though. In Hondata under Fuel Injector tap where I set the Volts for the injector, ID supplied use for 8-10-12-14-16 volts. thats 5 different volt settings but in Hondata there are 7 volt settings? Do I just leave the first 2 columns at 0v ?

Also How do I change the Usec ID supplies to MS hondata uses?

Oh I figured I think, Usec is a value of lets say 1340, in hondata we just type in 1.34 right?

Another thing I was wondering, according to Injector dynamic spec sheet, if I run 45psi fuel pressure injector delevers 730cc should that be typed in hondata instead of 725. Or if its 43.5psi its 715cc - cant remember what my pressure is, but will check up on it later this week.

Yes that is how you convert it.

You must enter the correct information based on the pressure you are running at.

Got my dead times correct now, but can someone enlighten me on what is going on with my car when starting her at operating temperature?
It wont fire up if I'm not having my foot slightly on the pedal, and when it fires, the engine sounds almost like running on 3 cyls but I know it doesn't.. I see my AF is very rich 10.8-11.2ish and you can see I need to apply some TPS if not, it will die out

Another question, what is the target afr from a cold start (20c atm), cant seem to find the correct compensation parameters for this to alter.

Attached both log and skl, hope some one will help me on the right way with this.
Have a good weekend,

From Rasmus

Hello spunkster, no not yet, will look into that, thank you. Target afr from coldstart to normal temp would be 12.5afr ?
