getting crap milage af@11.5:1 at idle ****HELP****

Post by weltall »

latly ive been getting the worst gas milage about 160 to the tank
my mods are greddy turbo kit testpipe fmic
on a civic si (k20a3)

i have p1167 disabled
p0134 disabled
and ODB2 disabled
for the test pipe

at idle af sits at 11.5 on av while afcmd says 14.5
at wot and 8psi it sits at 11-12
while crusing it STILL sits at 11.5-12 while the maps say it should be 13-14
i pulled my plugs and there is soot on them (idication of it being rich)
plus i know i have crappy plug im using bosch platinum+4's
the guy who sold them to me said they are resistor type

i have put a mechanical o2 sim on and ran it with nothing disabled and i still get a cel

p0134
if i disable that i get other cels i think it was p1167

only when all 4 are disabled i wont get a cel (ones disabled stated above)

i think the plugs may be part of the problem got like this about a week or so after i put them in

also im using the newest version of kmanager (not the beta)

and just the greddy 440 calibration for the civic si

im thinking that my front o2 has crapped on me but then i wouldnt get a reading right?

btw this is my daily driver and with gas prices being the way they are im desperately in need of some help

i just looked at old logs i did in april and af shows 14.5 at idle same with crusing speeds and 11-12 at wot at 8psi

The datalog shows closed loop pulling out a massive amount of fuel (it pegs at -27%) and it is still rich, mainly at idle and part throttle.

Post the calibration if you can.

My guess is a leaky injector. Pull the fuel rail off and key the ignition on a few times to see if any are leaking fuel. Put a bucket under the injectors and make sure the stock clips hold the injector to the fuel rail so they don't pop off under the fuel pressure.

Also replace the plugs with stock and remove the o2 simulator.

if it was a leaky injector wouldnt only one of the plugs have the soot on them?
cause they all do

could it be that the plugs arent burning all the feul?

also im using the greddy turbokit cal from the newest released version of kmanager

the one that is included with the newest version

im at work and dont have it so as of now i cant post it

and you just mean turn the car on right dont start it? as far as checking the injectors goes right?

and if it is on and my injectors have feul coming out of them they are screwed right? cause they should be closed fully

also how would i know if my primary o2 is bad?

up date i pulled the rail off and keyed the ignition
a few times

and checked the injectors
they appear to be "sweating" at the tips every time i did it
drying off inbetween
it wasnt dripping but looked like a coke can does with condensation on it
"about that much just in the black area where the fuel comes out

i have new injectors but im not putting them in untill i get my plugs put in and pull a datalog with new oem ngk's

also weird occurance
with the ac on full blast the a/f goes to a normal level strim still peged at 27%
with it of it goes rich again

is this because of the plugs? :?:

and right now im at 80 miles @ half a tank :? :? :? :x :x :x

I studied your datalog while looking at the greddy calibration a little bit and i didnt see anything out of the ordinary.

Did you change your temp. compensation numbers at all?

If not, then what I would do is set your idle target lambda at 12.0:1 and see if that helps

Report back after you do this

Also, post your calibration so i can see if your idle fuel values have been changed
