Fuel cut when goes into Vtec

Post by TheJester »

I have an S300 in a P28 ecu. I've used it in a 95 Integra B18 LS for a couple of years. I recently swapped in a B18C1. I added wiring for the Vtec solenoid and pressure switch. When the car goes into Vtec, it goes into fuel cut. I disabled the pressure switch and no change. If I move the Vtec rpm up or down, the fuel cut follows. I've triple checked the pin location at the ecu. I can use a jumper to apply voltage to the Vtec solenoid at the ecu and the car goes into Vtec with no issues. I'm running in open loop. All of the protections are disabled.

Anyone got any ideas.

It sounds like the thermostat ground is not making good contact, causing it to ground through the solenoid. Check all the grounds in the engine bay, clean and make sure they are secure.

i have the same problem....

problem is that its cutting the fuel when we go over 4-5000rpm but when in neutral and standing still on idle i can rev it without no problem and the vtec is not always coming on i dont really know whats the problem

i have moved the ect sensor and put it on a t cross so i could put a secondary ect sensor for a gauge maby thats one little issue ? im putting that back tomorrow i think the ground between the thermostat housing is not so good against the engine block because me my idiot painted it and some other stuff i remembered right no so the engine should look nice im fixing that also, and going over all the grounds in the engine bay tomorrow if there is something else i should look at please do tell and thank you for all your help.
