I received my ECU socketed from Hondata and jumper J12 does not appear to be cut, what is the purpose of cutting it? and would it work fine if it is not cut? because I read that it's just a suggestion. Thanks.

it lets the ecu know whether it is communicating half duplex or full duplex. when j12 is cut it switches into full duplex and allows faster communications.

will try it later...
i guess to doesnt have a downside when cutting j12.
it means you will be datalogging if FD. transmit and receive can be done simultaneously
you wont learn until you actually do it.

The downside is that you cannot connect to the Honda dealers' diagnostic center with the connector under the dash. Communication is faster and you can record at a faster rate.

faster communications between the ecu and the hondata box, etc...
half-duplex = cb radio, one person at a time can talk.
full-duplex = telephone, cell phone, etc. both can talk at the same time.
