I have a K swapped Honda Crx running on Kpro , its been in the car a year now and runs 100% perfect on RBC plenum and a set of cams.
earlier in the year I switched to ITBS and although I had the car mapped which was a nightmare due to cutting out all the time it would not run right and kept stalling so with no time due to a race coming up I switched back to plenum and again it runs perfect.
So with a bit of time on my side I have recently bought another / different set of ITBS and fitted them , reloaded the itb map and as expected its doing the same, It will start and run but it keeps cutting out dead mainly when I back off the throttle as the revs get lower and it will not restart by bump starting until I either turn off the key or allow the engine to come to a stop by de clutching , looking at the display the Duty% drops to 0 when this happens even if you have throttle on and this will not change unless the engine has been restarted.
the itbs are mapped on TPS
fuel pressure remains constant when cutting out
rev counter does not drop when cut out
the engine and ecu are from a 2003 Ep3 Kpro was new in March this year.
the car has the map sensor plumbed in and wired
the Ivac is disabled and not fitted
I have tried another ecu and Kpro and swapped map
swapped all sensors
swapped injectors
tried 3 tps sensors
fitted extra ground earths
I have just fitted another wiring harness and fully rewired the car as per Ep3 (it originally had a swap harness and we thought this was the issue)
the car on plenum as said is perfect no issues whatsoever never cuts out.
I know of 2 other k swap cars running itbs without these issues
Can anyone offer anything else to try and resolve this please.
Thanks in advance
Jeff
HELP PLEASE Honda Crx K20 running ITBS cutting out.
Re: HELP PLEASE Honda Crx K20 running ITBS cutting out.
You really should get it tuned using Alpha-N instead. Details can be found at: http://www.hondata.com/help/kmanager/ma ... tsub=alpha
Re: HELP PLEASE Honda Crx K20 running ITBS cutting out.
yes that is how it has been mapped on Alpha N.
We may have found something today, as i said the map sensor was plumbed into the inlet however we noticed that the centre pin was bent over so not actually connected , have straightened it out and reconnected and on a brief road test the car behaved itself , will have to try again tomorrow to be sure , I wasnt so sure if this sensor actually needed to be connected when using Alpha N
