Compound Turbo S2000 Monitoring

Post by SanfordBuilt »

I am building a Compound Turbo S2000. I currently have Hondata KPro2. I will need to monitor many things and possibly more in the future. Right now it will be:

LP turbo boost
HP turbo boost
EGT
Oil Pressure
AFR

Future:
Shaft speed on both turbos
Backpressure sensor

My question is, I don't want a ton of gauges all over the already small cabin. I was hoping to be able to run the sensors to KPro and display them on my laptop and then possibly a tablet to have the there and viewable all the time mounted in the dash.

Will I need Kpro4 to do this? What are the most cost effective ways of going about this?

Lambda - KPro4 analog or digital input
EGT - KPro4 analog input
Pressure x 4 - KPro4 analog input
Turbine speed x 2 - you'll need the device which converts to an analog output (usually the gauge does this).

What about the monitoring it all on a tablet (thinking a Nexus 7) How is that done?

Sorry if that's a super easy question, just trying to clarify everything before I jump into it all.

The tablets apps don't show analog or digital inputs; only the ECU sensors.

So there's no way to display all of those inputs on a screen somewhere?

Only in Kmanager, and that will only run under Windows.

What about something like the GaugeART product I've seen around?

You would have to ask them.

There are small and cheap tablets that can run Windows.
I'm thinking about buying a 7" one myself for monitoring, logging and doing small adjustments.
The kmanager interface is not the cleanest looking but it can be setup to show everything that you want.
