S300 V3 Ethanol Sensor

Post by Lyle_57IAL »

Hey Hondata,
This is actually a followup from a previous question of mine.

Currently i am using this innovated ethanol sensor / gauge package to measure Fuel Ethanol Content (Below). This has the Typical frequency base ethanol sensor going into the gauge and has two 0 - 5 v analogue outputs (1 for ethanol content & 1 for Fuel Temperature).

To have Hondata Register the ethanol content from the sensor. within the Flex Fuel Tab the following can be selected

* Digital Analogue input 0 (v3(- which is the digital raw frequency signal from the sensor itself combined with the 2.4kohm resistor
* Native onboard analogue inputs 1 & 2 (B6 etc) - which are just the Raw 0-5v signals

Questions are.

* Can i use EITHER option either the frequency signal into AI0 OR 0-5v signal into AI 2 ?
* Is there any preference? any advantage into using one or the other ?

Thanks guys please let me know

Either will work. I'd use whatever is easier to wire up. If using the frequency input as well as the frequency to voltage converter, then you don't need the 2.4k pull up resistor.
