S300 Downloads

Post by Jdeck »

So i got my car tuned a few years ago. When returning home I immediately downloaded my tune and saved the calibration file. Everything seemed to look exactly how it should. Over the last few years I have made very small changes (tps adjustment, changed high boost in 2nd hear, etc). To do that I have always changed the calibration file and uploaded. If my memory serves me correctly, I was always able to try to download again to basically verify the settings. Today I made some changes to the calibration file and re uploaded. I then downloaded to check everything and the low/high boost tables went completely wacky (they are wrong and all over the place). I tried to upload and download a few times with the same results. A few questions:

- Should I have any reason to believe that my upload is not taking?
- What's going on with the download? Could it have worked in the past and not work now?

What version software are you using? Can you email us the calibration?

I'm not sure I can get to this, I would prefer to not have to remove the ecu. Could you explain why you need this info?

I will verify what version of SManager I am using when I get home today (most likely 2.5.2.0 ). Where should I email the calibration to?

It's so we know exactly what we are dealing with.

Serial is 10240
Version is 2.5.2

I believe that the calibration is working but I'm a bit confused about the behavior of the download.

Nothing was wrong with your s300. The early s300 does not store the calibration and the calibration must be reconstructed from the ECU binary. You get a warning to that effect - it is always better to use the calibration rather than download.

Gotcha, good to know. Any explanation as to why it used to work? I always use the calibration file to upload but I originally got that by downloading it a few years ago.

It was because of the binary file changes which have been made over the last couple of releases. We've changed SManager so that it downloads at least the current software version correctly.
