8.5 cr without Turbo Tune?

Post by Ralph Spencer »

I've built an LS/Vtec Turbo Motor to swap with the B16a that is in my Civic now.
I want to put the LS/Vtec in and put a tune on it so I can drive it for a break-in period before putting the Turbocharger on it.
It is an 8.5 compression motor.(Fully built internals)
How hard will it be to get a tune on this motor at that compression without the turbo on it?
Thanks ahead.

Since it is for break in, you do not have to make a perfect tune for full throttle runs. Just increase timing 3-4 degrees everywhere (due to lower CR) and work in closed loop to make sure your engines breaks in with good AF ratios. Then, you tune it with your turbo on.

What he said. To me, this one is an easy one to tune.
