What version s300 is it? With the V3 it is possible to delete the calibration from the s300. In that case, you would not be able to make any changes without the original calibration from the tuner. I'd check with the tuner.

hi there, thx for getting back so fast..... its a version 2, ive aasked my local tuner and they tell me that 'for insurance purposes' they lock them.... thats fine its their work but what i would like to know is after taking it to them to be R/R tuned... will i have access when i plug into the ECU, so i can datalog, make any small changes i see fit and quite importantly i would like to access it so i can set up all the launch control & full throttle shift stuff ???
i purchased my s300 from a uk hondata agent.... i havnt actually checked but should i register the unit with you, will that prevent me from being locked out of my own ecu ???
thx in advance

Who is it that you are talking to about tuning and they want to lock your s300?

hi there, i dont want to drop anyone in it, or go upsetting the tuners or hondata or anyone at all, i would just like to know after investing into hondata if the maps can be locked independantly from the whole ECU on the s300 gen2 so after the R/R i can still access my Ecu ???? hope you can help please.

A password can only be set for the registered owner of the s300. This should be in your name with your details. The dealer should not register it in their name and set a password.

hi there , thx for the reply... yes thats what conclusion ive come to, the only way they can 'protect' their map is to tick the box that requires a password to be able to up/download/view a map/calibrations perameters, (its just annoying as im paying for the map/tuning anyway,,, and then to be rewarded by not having full access to MY ECU !)
So another tuner will be tasked, im sure there are plenty of reputable tuners with good setups out there.
thanks for all your help :)
