Falling out of open loop, closed loop lean detonation.

Post by rcntype »

I drive a 2001 Toyota mr2 spyder with a K24a2 swap. Using Kmanager 4.2.0 on a PRB ecu. Mods are custom 3" intake, stock header and custom 3" exhaust and rsx-s vtc limited to 40deg. Everything else is stock.

Trying to get rid of some knock but don't know what to do about this situation or maybe there is a setting that will help.

4th gear constant medium throttle, goes into open loop then towards higher rpms when load lowers enough to go back into closed loop AFR shoots back to the 14.7 set point which induced lean detonation. Not sure how to proceed. Any advice?

I've currently just lowered the open loop load point from 80kPa to 70kPa to help in this area but I don't think this is the correct way of solving this issue. I read in the help section about the WOT - Throttle (low) settings under Closed loop may adjust whats going on but not sure how.

Attached is Kal and log of what happened. Issue at about 3:05

lower closed loop.kal
fall out of open loop.kdl

It should not detonate at 70 kPa and 28 degrees timing. Use the WOT throttle tables, but you'll have to lower the TPS to perhaps 35% (high) and 30% (low) for the top rpm column (2687 rpm).
