map sensor reading higher boost

Post by skygtr »

So we have been trying to diagnose this issue for two days now. My setup is a k20a kswap with JR supercharger using 3" supercharger pulley and 2002-2004 rsx type S crank pulley. Which the boost output should be around 11psi with these pulley combo. Before Ive made a few changes to the intake system such as the bigger supercharger inlet and bigger throttle body, the car ran perfectly fine. Nothing else has changed as to pulley size. So for some reason the omni 4 bar map sensor is picking up 16psi while the static boost should only be 11psi. We have tried changing the scalar value for the map sensor, even knocking it in half, the only thing that it did was making the car runs worse while the boost reading does not change. We have changed out the map sensor to a brand new one, still has the same issue. Anyone has any idea on what we should try next? Thanks for the help

Without the calibration and a datalog showing the issues it is impossible to speculate.

you need a manual vacuum/boost gauge for comparison if it is in fact getting 11psi and reading 16 on the map it may be a voltage issue but a manual gauge is a good way to start . i think if you edit the scalar for the map it will cause the ecu to think your at a dfferent manifold pressure than you actually are and that would mean your tune is not going to supply fuel and timing correctly .
