Fuel gauge no longer working after latest update

Post by Akin Black »

Hi Everybody.
finished mapping my car just over a month ago with no issues and everything working as it should.
Last night I downloaded the latest software ( 2.3.1?) and proceeded to update the firmware on my flashpro unit again with no issues.
I then upload the calibrations onto the flashpro as recommended by the software and then uploaded to the ECU.

Now I appear to have lost a reliable fuel gauge and the trip/mpg computer is no longer working properly as apparently I am now doing 1.5 mpg

Does anybody know if Hondata have changed something in the latest version that could have caused this?
How do I get a working fuel gauge again, or is it possible to downgrade the firmware back to a previous version?

Any help appreciated.

Do you use a MAP or AFM calibration?

Whit MAP, the fuel gauge is not correct!
Only if you use a AFM calibration or HYBRID calibration, the fuel gauge is correct!

What version do you use before?

Hi Guys.
Thanks for the reply's.
Calibration attached as requested.
I am pretty sure it is a AFM calibration and as I said everything was working fine until I updated the software and firmware on the flashpro last night.
I am not 100% certain, but I think I was on V2.1.3 (9 Apr 2015) before the upgrade, Is there any way to tell?.
If I remember correctly with the MAF tune you also lost the oil warning light and I definitely still have that, although I also seem to have lost the gear change indicator lights from the dashboard as well as the fuel guage issue:-(

You are not using a Race calibration so that is good.

It may take a tank of fuel for it to get recalibrated since it was reset when you reflashed the ECU.

I didnt think it was a race calibration , but thanks for confirming that.
Is the full tank of fuel to recalibrate a new requirment as I must have uploadedto the ECU over 30 times in the past without coming across this before?
Also as I said I appear to have lost the gear change indicators from the dashboard that were definatly there before the software update and none of the trip computer readouts are reading correctly either.
Ive tried uploading three times just in case there was a issue with the upload but that hasnt changed anything either.

Is there any way to revert to a previous firmware revision?

That's a shame then :-(
Somebody else on Civinfo has reported the same problem. I have emailed Hondata, but so far no response :-(

There are no known problems with the FN2. If your fuel gauge stopped working then it is likely that you have loaded a US calibration or race calibration at some point.
Upload a stock FN2 calibration (or return to stock if your modifications allow it), then refill the fuel tank from below half to full to reset the trip computer.
If you use any US calibrations or race calibrations then you'll have to repeat the process. For this reason only use Euro FN2 calibration types.

Thanks for the reply.
Defiantly no US or race calibrations have been uploaded to the Ecu. In fact I only have software installed for the euro fn2.
As I said, the issue only arose after updating the software and firmware on the flashpro unit.
I will try with a standard map just to make sure.

Hi,
this issue which you provide comes up, if you do not enter a valid value in the Fuel Economy section...
By default in the old calibration a high value will be entered which must be corrected manually to the same value as the economy calc:

After converting:
Fuel > Fuel Economy:
Injector flow for fuel economy calc: 700
Injector flow for dash: 32648

Correct value:
Fuel > Fuel Economy:
Injector flow for fuel economy calc: 700
Injector flow for dash: 700
