Wondering if anyone can help me get pointed in the right direction. I have a 2004 rsx-s, intake/header/exhaust/KPRO V3. My target idle is set to 950 to keep my engine mounts from rattling my teeth out on idle. I've had hanging idle issues for a while now. Rpms stay high and take a few seconds to come back down to target idle whenever the clutch is engaged when I come to a stop. I've thoroughly cleaned the IACV, and adjusted the IACV compensation, which has fixed the problem under normal driving. Still an issue before coolant is up to temp. With the AC on, the opposite happens; the IACV comps help bring idle down faster with AC off, but bring it down too much with AC on. Car often falls to 5-600ish rpms when I come to stop lights with AC on, then recovers after a second or two. Idles just fine once it recovers though, and switching AC on and off while stopped doesn't affect idle. Cold air (winter weather) seems to make it worse too, even without AC.
Got a few ideas, just not sure which would be the best place to start. Could be the intake air bypass thermal control valve causing issues during cold coolant temps. Once it's warmed up though, could it be another comp somewhere that I need to adjust, besides the IACV compensation? Would any sort of ignition comps help? TPS giving bad voltages? Anything else you guys have experienced?
Thanks in advance.
Idle control issues
Re: Idle control issues
Have you tried adjusting the slider in the idle section of parameters?
Re: Idle control issues
That's the IACV duty cycle right? Yes, I've adjusted that slider so it returns to idle well, so long as it's warmed up and AC is off. I could adjust it more so that it returns to idle better with AC on, but then it seems to pull the idle down too much whenever the AC is off.
I will try to get a datalog to upload today or tomorrow.
