Eliminate Sensors with K-PRO

Post by K20EG »

I would like to run my K20A2 with as little sensors as possible. Does anyone know which sensors are absolutely need to run the K20A2? Will K-PRO be able to eliminated all un-needed sensors? Are there any difference in performance when sensors are disabled? Would I be able to use the RSX base maps to run my car for a while before I get it tuned?

What sensors are you wanting to remove?

Any sensors that the K20A2 doesn't need to run or can be disabled. I don't care about the emissions control stuff. I want the K-PRO to run at optimal performance and not have to be restricted by the sensors.

Running with all sensors is recommended.

Well...I've heard that if you disable the O2 sensor through K-PRO the car will run alot stronger. Is that true?

No that is not true. The key to making maximum power is in proper tuning.

What about the EVAP system? So you still have it hooked up on your swap?

OBD2 functions can be disabled in the K-Pro software. I would recommend downloading the software so you can take a look at exactly how it all works.

The only sensors you can remove is the o2 sensors and the EVAP/PCS. There is no different in power. Unless it is a custom wired race vehicle then removing the sensors is likely to cause more trouble than it is worth.
