using the app seeing knock counts

Post by fkrzo1 »

got my flashpro yesterday. installed today. only mod is AEM sri. loaded aem sri maf tune. 93 octane in car always. looking at the app i got 4-7 knocks per cylinder in 10 minutes of spirited driving. 85 degrees. is this acceptable? Earlier today when it was 70 degrees I opened it up a couple of times and there were no knocks, even brought it up to 8500 rpm. (07 si) also can I datalog without a laptop by just hitting the button? hope I posted in the right section. Thanks for any and all help

You can create datalogs without the laptop by pressing the datalog button on the FlashPro to start and then again to stop the datalog. Ideally you want 0 knocks, but a few random ones here and there should not be that big of a deal.

I would treat the base map that you loaded as just that....Yes it's for your specific intake but I don't believe they should be used as a final tune. So you said 4-7 knocks per cyl so you had 16-28 knocks in 10 minutes....Probably not terrible but I would want less than 5 total knocks in at least 100 minutes of driving if not even less than that...I would try to retard the timing 2 degrees at WOT for all cam angles. But you really need datalogs....You could be running slightly lean and or timing overadvanced. Could be false kock.. I would still have your car tuned by a pro.

You could be running 13's air fuel ratio at wot which is a little lean and your spark tables are good...So if you retard the timing you could be making an adjustment to the wrong area. If you fatten up the fuel curve then the engine could tolerate the current spark...Datalogs are the key
