integra ecu swap into civic?
integra ecu swap into civic?
my friend said that i can swap this '90 integra ecu into my '94 civic lx. he also said that it should be a direct swap and that i can rev higher and save more gas? is this true? i don't know if i should do it or not? my car is a civic '94 lx 4dr. and the ecu from the integra is a ls model.
90 Acura Integra = OBD-0
94 Honda Civic = OBD-1
To use this ECU you will need an OBD-0 to OBD-1 conversion harness, which most people don't use [you'll mostly find people converting OBD-0 to OBD-1 instead of the other way around].
While you may have a higher rev limit, it certainly will not save you on gas mileage. The ECU that came in your car was designed to optimize the fuel efficiency of the engine in your car.
Personally I see no gain in doing this.
