headlights on runs rich.

Post by Lazysk8r2 »

Good morning,

Car is 00 civic si, V3 hondata, turbo E85 Flexfuel ID2000. Anyways the problem i noticed was when i turned my headlights the run would run richer. I have attached my map and datalogs. I got a base map from a reputable tuner to start tuning my car from. Iv read it could be the dead times.

I don't think it is the dead times. The problem is that the battery voltage is much lower than normal (13.8V @ 1100 rpm) and drops with the headlights on to around 13.0V. The manifold pressure is high at idle (~50 kPa) so either the engine compression is very low or the cams are very large or off one tooth.
What you need to do is to determine why the voltage is low. It could be the alternator, alternator wiring, alternator control wire, battery or battery relation or a ground wire.
