MAP sensor fault

Post by stormchaser »

Hello guys, I seem to be having an issue with my map sensor, its a boosted D16, I had a 3 bar map sensor prior which was showing -0.1- -0.2 psi with just ignition on and thrown up a fault code. I spoke with a guy who is known for mapping Hondata's and he said its a broken map sensor and go and get a omnipower 4 bar sensor. I have the new sensor and is plugged in with the right settings but now I get a reading of between 0.2 and 0.4 psi and its fluctuating constantly. I have checked the earth from the sensor and could not seem to get a good constant earth so I have backed that up to another earth point to be sure. Any suggestions as where to go next?

Try the ECU in a known good vehicle to rule out wiring faults.

Unfortunately that isn't an option as I don't know anyone else with a Civic or anyone with a D series, should I be seeing particular voltages coming out of the ecu to the sensor and certain voltages back, would it be an idea to just cut the wiring and run it direct to the right ecu pins just to check?
