Flex fuel
Flex fuel
Hello, i recently wired in the GM flex fuel sensor with resistor between the vcc and 12v, it's a version 3 and wired into analog 0, my question is, is there a way to see if it's working with out running the car? And also can you get it to show you the percentage of Ethonal on the display?
Re: Flex fuel
It you download the newest beta version you can datalog and see the ethanol content. It usually will not read unless the car is running as not enough fuel will be flowing to properly read it.
Re: Flex fuel
Is there any settings to set up in the analog inputs?
Re: Flex fuel
Details on the settings and what parts are needed can be found at: http://www.hondata.com/help/smanager/fl ... htsub=flex
Re: Flex fuel
jdelcorte: if you use the s300 v3 AN0 digital input option for your flex fuel sensing, you cannot view ethanol content % and fuel temperature while data logging. and NO, you do not need to set anything in "parameters", "analog inputs" if you are using the digital option. leave it as "unused"
Re: Flex fuel
I too have set it up like you, resistor inline, using the digital s300v3 AN0 route but just realized that I cannot monitor ethanol content % and fuel temp.
So I have decided to change over to using a "ethanol content analyzer" and ordered a ZEITRONIX ECA-2 kit with the E% gauge which has 2 analog outputs and produces the usual 0-5 volt, one for fuel temp and one for ethanol %.
I also had to buy a new GM FF sensor harness because my one has the resistor inline, I didn't have to buy a new sensor at lease. the only unknown thing is, the GM 13577429 flex fuel sensor im using has not been tested with the ECA-2 unit yet, it will display ethanol % for sure but im not sure about temperature. I will test it and let you guys know if it does or does not read both temp and Ethanol%.
Known working and tested sensors by Zeitronix are GM 13577394 and GM 13577379.

Re: Flex fuel
sorry I miss what spunk said, so the new beta can read ethanol content? and temp too?
Re: Flex fuel
ok I see it now, I don't have to change over after all as hondata have added in fuel temp and ethanol % in the latest beta update! thank you so much hondata!
