how to id an ecu

how to id an ecu

I have accuired an ecu it is suposed to be a P30 but all of the stickers that have the part #s was removed is there any way to id it

Look for a 3 digit number on the processor (the largest chip). For a P30 it usually is 305

it has 301 on it

That sounds like a DX ECU. Does it have the daughter board for the knock sensor? Post a photo if possible.
