s300 v1 solid red light, possible bad battery back up?
I have an all motor B18c build shouldn't really matter what I have besides the Hondata s300 v1. My car sat for 4 months, drove fine for two weeks then a solid CEL thgat kinda dimmed in and out, as well as my s300 solid red light went on, car started up but idled up and down 1k rpms, ran like complete crap found out that was the stock base map of the P28. I searched on here and found out to update my Smanager, and download, then upload the weird tune on the s300. Then Erase it, and upload the stock itr base map then upload my tune and drive but it was a 20 minute process and I stopped doing this got an s100 installed into the ecu for the time being, so we know it isn't ground wires, main relay, or the main capacitor or even the Ecu or wiring itself, car runs fine just the Hondata s300 v1 I have isn't functioning proper. I have done nothing to the s300. It was installed and I have had it for 5 years now, This just randomly happened after letting my car sit for 4 months. I started it up occasionally but didn't drive it around. I replaced the Main relay, Car battery, alternator, Re-sanded and placed all of my grounds. Checked fuses, then put the s100 in and everything was fine again. Any advice? Maybe send me a reply post of where to E-Mail my Hondata problems too? Serial# s300-12,967

It sounds like the battery has died. It is not able to be replaced. Your only option would be to upgrade to the newer s300 v3. The cost to do this would be $350 which includes shipping.

Really? This is Hondata's error using a battery back up shouldn't that be a free fix? That's obscured. I paid over 600 when this came out and did nothing wrong never touched it but I have to pay to have it replaced.Spunkster wrote:It sounds like the battery has died. It is not able to be replaced. It is out of warranty. It is still cheaper than the price of a new s300 which is $495.

Is it possible to replace the battery myself? Is there a diagram to point out where it is? I don't have the cash to just throw out on a new s300 If I don't need to. I have an s100 installed in the mean time. If anyone has knowledge of the location of the Battery Back up Ram let me know thanks.

How do I go about paying for and shipping mine in for the new one?

There is a form on the s300 page for this: http://www.hondata.com/downloads/s300v3 ... e_form.pdf

Do I have to send my ECU in with the s300? and why does it say only 280? is that only if it doesn't have a bad battery back up RAM?
Re: s300 v1 solid red light, possible bad battery back up?
That is only if it is working. They are all tested when they come in.

Okay cool but do I have to send in my ECU? and why?
Re: s300 v1 solid red light, possible bad battery back up?
This is so we can test it and make sure everything is working properly.

So I have to print out the form, fill it out, leave the s300 in the ecu, get a box and send the ecu with the s300 to the said shipping location? Do I just leave the form in the box with the ecu?
