S200 basemap question

Whats up guys... Recently turbo'd my 99 Civic Si.. I ordered my Hondata S200 and told them I would be running 450cc injectors.

Now my question is... how good is the map right out the box... I AM going to get the car tuned soon, but have a car show to go to shortly after the Hondata should arrive. The car seems to be running lean after the install so I am wondering how much plug and play this is going to be.

I am only running 5lbs currently (Am going to shoot for 8-9 when tuning), but I was wondering what your opinions are as far as....should I drive the car before the tuning and can I boost on it without hurting anything with the basemap it should ship with?

Or is it going to be just trial and error - just see how it runs after we plug it in?

Let me know what you think because it may make or break me going to the show..

Hondata does not ship the systems with basemaps. You will need to contact your dealer as they are the ones who provide the basemaps. I would not boost on a basemap and you should take it very easy until you are tuned.

The dealer is providing a basemap - set for 450's...

I was just curious to how good the map was out the box...thats all....

From my experience, you shouldn't drive hard on basemaps. The basemap will allow the car to run with whatever size injectors you have and can probably [big maybe there] handle a little boost, but it's best to stay in vacuum when on a basemap and use it only to get your car from your house to your tuner.
