KPRO4 / AP1 S2000 P0335

Post by tehlonz »

2001 Honda S2000
KPRO4 , all new honda sensors as per hondata list.
ECU : 37820-PRB-305 / 2054-101558
Purchased through Xenocron. - Customer support has been emailed.
Kpro manager : V4.0.8 .

I had an initial startup DTC of P0335 , car would start and rev to 3K (limp).
Veriried 5V @ Crank connector pins 1, 2 . Replaced crank sensor , same symptom.

Performed pull test on supplied extension (D-plug) harness . D plug terminal 1 had wire pull out of terminal.
Ordered new D-Plug and OBD2A terminals from HA motorsport.

I have repinned a new connector housing .
Car will not fire, no RPM is seen when cranking. DTC P0335 appears - CRK no signal.

I have continuity tested harness to the following results.

D plug 1 - Crank Pin 2

D plug 2 - Cam Pin 1

D plug 4 - Crank Pin 3

D plug 5 - Cam Pin 3

D Plug 6 - Cam Pin 2

D Plug 7 - Crank Pin 1.

Below is how is my reference to D-Plug pin orientation.

Any help in resolving this issue would be much appreciated , along with , if needed the correct pin out of the extension harness.

You should always read the wire position from the left to right with the clip on the top from the wire side. That being said I'm not sure how you are counting the cam and crank pins.

As tested is below , All wiring reads .47 ~.50 Ohms end to end with test lead.

Crank pin 1 , to D plug #7

Crank Pin 2 , to D plug # 1

With above wiring scheme in place . Voltages with Ignition on are as follows:

Crank pin 1 – GRND

Crank pin 3 – V +

DMM read – 5.02 Ign on.

Cam Pin 1 – v+

Cam pin 3 – GRND

DMM read – 7.04V Ign on .

From the wire side of each plug with the clip on the top it should be as follows:

ECU____Cam____Crank
1______1
2______________1
4______3
5______________3
11_____________2
12_____2

If the wiring is correct, then you need to make sure that you have the sensors seated all the way in the holes that they sit. If they are slightly crooked they will not read.

Issue is resolved. NO DTCs. Followed by pin assignments as your recommendation.

Followed D-plug assignments as follows: Inverted my understanding of Pin 1 on Cam and Crank sensors in reference to those pics above.
