'O2 Sensor Heater' Code Despite New Wideband

Hello all,

About a year ago I got a CEL 41 for the "O2 sensor heater", I quickly disabled the O2 sensor heater using SManager until I was able to get a new wideband installed. Recently, the car started running a little rougher and I noticed that my wideband was giving numbers that seemed off (would be driving around super rich for a while then go back to normal) and it was starting to stick on certain numbers. Figured the wideband had finally fully crapped out.

Today I put in my new wideband, unchecked the disable O2 sensor box and thought everything would be hunky-dory. To my great surprise, car ran like garbage and got a CEL right away... The code? 41. The Cure? Disabling the O2 sensor heater once again.

What could be causing this code if not the O2 sensor? My wideband controller is a PLX devices SM-AFR, however, the sensor is an AEM Uego LSU 4.2. The car was built by a local shop and I think they simply used whatever sensor they had available (that and it has a really secure connection).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you aren't using a factory narrow band sensor then you must disable the o2 heater error.

seconded! if you don't have a stock narrowband in use and are only running in open loop, or closed loop Wideband Lambda/voltage you must disable O2 heater as it's not physically present, if you are using closed loop Narrow band operation and there is a narrow band present, you can uncheck O2 Heater. the primary O2 sensor must be the one thats present for narrow band operation

Ten years late, just starting..but the current Closed Loop Parameters "help" file misled me, it says "Disable the o2 heater if the stock oxygen sensor is physically present."

Should that be "isn't" physically present? I definitely need to keep reading, but was puzzled by that.
