S300 V3 - Aftermarket Dash - Motec / Haltech

Hello.

Currently have a p28 Ecu on my 94 eg Civic with a S300 v3. Currently a very big feature for me for the later version s300 was the extra 8 analogue inputs. Currently using these to log some extra temperatures & pressures.

Really want an electronic dash so i configure myself so not only can i display factory information but also the auxiliary analogue inputs. A while ago i purchased the tuner view II in hope that i could do this - however was very disappointed to find out this was not the case?

First of all what electronic dashes are currently out there that i could do such a task? - Racepack, Motec etc etc

The MoTeC should be able to datalog analog input values, but you would have to create the CAN templates yourself.

What do you mean "Should" be able to?

What is the main difference between CAN and Rs232? any pros / cons between these two?

'Should' because I have not tested it, but did create the main CAN templates without a problem.

Could you elaborate on this a bit more ? What is the difference between the can protocol or rs232 - not really sure what you mean by "more info"

If you look at the RS232 packet http://www.hondata.com/help/kmanager/serialoutput.htm and the CAN packets http://www.hondata.com/help/smanager/can_output.htm you'll see that some information is in both, and other sensors are only in one protocol.
The CAN packet has the analog values and ethanol content, the RS232 packet has brake switch, vtec flag etc.
