Kpro heater circuit malfunction p1166
Kpro heater circuit malfunction p1166
Hi I keep getting this code on my kpro
I've got a 2001 kswaped em2 with a PRB ecu
I bought the k tuned conversion harness, wired it up as the guide said and had the code come up since then I've changed the lambda sensor for a new denso one and double checked the wiring.
Could this be an ecu fault?
don't really want to drive it with this code on

Re: Kpro heater circuit malfunction p1166
We have not seen a fault in the ECU which causes this error. I would look at the wiring.

Re: Kpro heater circuit malfunction p1166
okay thanks, found a few people online have had to move the wires about for the lambda as they wasn't where they needed to be so I'll take a look at that tomorrow.
Re: Kpro heater circuit malfunction p1166
the wiring has been amended and the lambda is getting power, but I'm still getting this fault code.
The ecu im using now is a PRB with kpro I have the original ecu which is PRA i think*
would it be worth getting someone to swap the kpro over into the other ecu?

Re: Kpro heater circuit malfunction p1166
No, do not swap over to the other ECU, A PRA cannot run an OEM wideband. Try the ECU in a known working vehicle to see if it reads correctly, if it does you know you have a wiring issue to resolve.
Re: Kpro heater circuit malfunction p1166
Managed to fix the problem, there was wires missing in the c101 and A plug so the ecu wasn't getting the signal. Strange but its all working now no more P1166!
Re: Kpro heater circuit malfunction p1166
I'm also getting P1166 code on my PRB ecu with Kpro v4 when I'm running a PLX AFR wideband controller for the closed loop. Should I turn of the heater fuction in the Kmanager when I'm running a PLX controller or should I check the wiring?
Re: Kpro heater circuit malfunction p1166
How do you have the PLX connected to the ECU?
Re: Kpro heater circuit malfunction p1166
I have tried it both analog and digital. Should it matter which way it's connected?
Your instruction for connecting plx afr to s300 says disable 02 heater in software.

Re: Kpro heater circuit malfunction p1166
Yes you must disable the heater, but I was trying to determine if you were connecting it to the K-Pro directly, or through an ECU input.
Re: Kpro heater circuit malfunction p1166
I have connected it though both the anaolg input on the kpro board and the digital input. If one connect it through the analog input do one need to use capacitors?
Re: Kpro heater circuit malfunction p1166
I do not know of any situation where capacitors are needed.
Re: Kpro heater circuit malfunction p1166
Had to revive this thread cause I have the same p1166 problem and through diagnosing I have battery voltage on a1 and a24 with ignition on.According to alldata this means the ecu is damaged. I have decided to use a plx device wideband and ditch the oem 02 but was under the impression that this was not possible with the prb ecu. What do you mean by connection directly to kpro or through ecu input.Spunkster wrote:Yes you must disable the heater, but I was trying to determine if you were connecting it to the K-Pro directly, or through an ECU input.
Re: Kpro heater circuit malfunction p1166
What version K-Pro do you have?
Re: Kpro heater circuit malfunction p1166
V 4 got the MTX-L innovate wideband connected to eld. I pprogrammed it as per kpro settings but the problem I have now is that I can't select external wideband in closed loop parameter all the options are greyed out.
