What I want to know is what parts do you need from the original car to do a swap (this is in reference to the immobilizer system).
I have everything but the original key I have the ECU, and the Key tumblers. I went to both Honda and an Acura Dealership. They said to rescan it I needed Acura tumbler, because my Honda civic tumbler wont talk to the Acura RSX ECU. So I made some calls and was able to get the same tumbler units from the car my engine came out of. (There are 2 of them, one with a green plug and one with a blue)
Now that I explained all that, the heart of my question is, what is in the Key that talks to the tumbler, is there anything in the actual key, or now that I have the tumblers and the ecu from the same car can I just start it up. Or will I need to haul my car back over to the dealership to get a rescan. Also is there any way to bypass the immobilizer crap.
immobilizer
obdII swaps suck. they suck even harder when you have to use the immo-equiped ecu.
