Cam angle does not change at all, please help. (S2000 AP1)

Post by pipka76 »

Hi,

after resolving my O2 sensor problems, I have another issue.

My Kpro (S2000 AP1) shows CAM sensor value = -20 (minus twenty deg), and CAMCMD = 0 deg ... all the time.
There is no CEL, the car starts and idle perfectly. I have tried to wait until it warms up and ECT was over 176 F, then I was slowly opening throttle up to 4000 and no change at all CAMCMD=0, CAM=-20.
I have checked the voltages on 3P CAM connector when ignition ON and there are the same voltages as on crank sensor connector (and that one works pretty sure).

Please suggest what can be wrong. I don't know what else to check. (TDC sensor wheel OUTSIDE label has to face to the firewall right?)

Thanks in advance.

The S2000 does not use CamCMD. These are only used on an engine with VTC. The S2000 only has normal VTEC.

Well, ok. And what about CAM angle? That one should be read correctly right?

Thanks.

No, it will not read. Only exhaust cam is being used for the F20C engine.

They are not variable so there is no need to.

I'm trying to understand... You are saying that they are not variable because I know what the angle is set by ECU in a given moment by looking up to the cam tables?

The Engine in an S2000 does not have variable cam angles period. There is no need to measure them. The tables you see are because you are using the ECU from an RSX which does have them. They are not usable in an S2000.
